Obama's visit cancelled

With the devastating passing of the LDS Prophet, Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley, presidential candidate Barack Obama has cancelled his stop to Utah. Though i'm grateful for this show of respect, i'm praying that he will be able to fit a visit in to Utah sometime. I pray he'll be able to help enlighten those in need of some direction when it comes to their role of responsibility in society.

Gosh how surprising-I really wouldn't have expected something like this. It hardly seems like a show of respect to cancel the visit-seem more like a cop out. I would much rather have had him come and speak some words of respect, then move on to his campaign agenda. Seems like we'll always be doomed to not have any visitors in Utah. Sad.

I heard about this...I do think it was the best move for Obama, frankly, because otherwise his visit would've conflicted with the funeral, and then people would've had to choose to miss the funeral to see him, and that would've brought up a whole "he doesn't understand Utah" thing...

Still bummed he didn't come though.

I didn't realize it was the same day-that certainly changes my opinion :)
